This November, MAC will be unveiling their latest collaborative make-up series, which comes in the shape of 3 collections by the avant garde artist Cindy Sherman. Sherman is both a film maker and photographerbut is generally best known for transforming herself and creating distorted self portraiture through the use of heavy make-up, wigs and prosthetics. As Sherman uses her own face as the canvas, her union with MAC would always have resulted in remarkable images that are much more character based than the airbrushed beauties we usually see in cosmetic advertising campaigns.

Each of the three “faces” Sherman has created for the MAC campaigns corresponds to a new collection of lipsticks, liners, nail colours and pigment pots sure to capture the imagination and attention of the brand’s most sincere enthusiasts. Considering that earlier this year, one of Cindy’s self portraits sold for $3.89 million at auction it’s nice to know you can get a little of her artistic spirit for about €15 thanks to MAC!

The Cindy Sherman Collections for MAC will be available from November 2011
