It delights me to say that the Dublin shopping scene is full of surprises and nothing gets me squealing louder than when I uncover a new hidden gem. Having completely refrained from any sort of retail therapy over the last few weeks (due to a beyond hectic work schedule rather than the lack of retail temptation), on an impromptu stroll through town last Friday I came across two new vintage hot spots. These two shops are sure to tempt any true vintage gal with a stunning array of vintage goodies dating right back to the 1920’s.

Kazana is located in Crown Alley in Temple Bar (next door to Bad Ass Cafe) and has seriously impressive stock at very competitive prices – belts and handbags from €10, jackets from €25, dresses between €25-€30 and shirts / blouses from €15. I skipped out laden down with four stunning dresses for €110; a 60’s multi-coloured cocktail dress finished with silver lurex thread, a 70’s maxi sun dress, a 40’s style black crepe shift and a colourful 60’s tunic. This is vintage like it should be; great selection, good quality and reasonable prices! Kazana is certainly worth a snoop in the coming weeks.

At the other end of the scale, Hayworth Vintage, which opened a while back on the first floor in Arnotts, grabbed my attention with its collection of stunning vintage wedding gowns staring at approx. €175. Think 1940’s Grecian silk adorned gowns and 70’s and 80’s lace panelled frocks. Hayworth Vintage also stocks a hand-picked selection of signature vintage occasion pieces and accessories if you’re on the prowl for something extra special and, most importantly one-off, for racing season. Happy hunting!
