There are certain pieces that a man should never go cheap on. First and foremost, his footwear. Trust me if you do, you’ll only end up regretting it. Admittedly a good pair of boots will cost you. But they’ll last and you’ll get years of wear out of them. Over the boots lifetime, think of the money you’ll actually save compared with buying several pairs of inferior quality boots.
This pair by Rag & Bone are worth investing in. They don’t come cheap at €585 (MrPorter.com) but that’s my point. These are a classic and all going well you should get wear out of these for at least the next five years. Divide the price by 5 and it actually works out being better value than buying an average pair of boots each year that won’t last squat. It’s all in the detailing and the quality fabrics. Suede and leather panelling with sand leather sole and metal rivets, these are designed to look better as they age. Making them solid, hardwearing and a definite investment buy.
Founded in 2002, the label Rag & Bone are relative newcomers but have been making serious waves and even picked up Menswear Designers of the Year at the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards last year.
