For Spring Summer 2012 over at Topman they’ve gone for a mish mash of clashing patterns. Tribal motifs and animal print feature heavily alongside geometric shapes on most things including crew tops and lightweight shirts. Overall there’s a distinct vintage vibe to the range with lots of detailing and a strong Eastern influenced

I’m pretty sure wherever you are in the country this morning, it’s pretty miserable outside. But there’s bright news on the sartorial front. Penney’s latest spring collections for 2012 will be trickling into stores over the next couple of weeks. And we’re in for a treat – a riot of bold, bright, vibrant blocks of colour, oversized florals

If the prospect of snow boots and flood gear is all becoming too grim a reality then for the next couple of minutes cast your mind forward to warmer, sunny, spring times. Yesterday I attended the River Island SS11 womenswear preview. Inspired by the new collections and craving a fresh pop of colour in my own wardrobe, I decided to go on a mission for something fresh & colourful. Naturally I started in River Island, a place if I’m being really honest, I don’t normally gravitate to

This season, updating your look needn’t involve maxing out the credit card or ditching last season’s best-buys. You can transform your style with the appearance of a new wardrobe simply by choosing the right mix of ultra-chic accessories. Most seasons usher in a key must-have piece but this spring summer, it’s not so much what you wear, it’s how much you wear.

Yesterday I finally got around to tackling my wardrobe for a long overdue spring clean. I’m generally quite good when it comes to hanging up /sorting my clothes but part of my problem stems from working in TV. I’ve a personal rule that I never wear the same outfit twice on screen. In theory this is great but in practice it means I’m constantly introducing new clothes to my closet. So at the moment, I’ve at least a dozen practically brand new shirts, sweaters, cardigans etc that I’ve worn only once. Being honest I don’t LOVE 80% of them and it’s unlikely I’ll ever even wear most of them again. So I’ve decided to be ruthless and put into practice my own guidelines. Here goes!
1) Control: Firstly, clutter in your closet is not necessarily a bad thing once you are in control of the items you have and know exactly what is where.
2) Timing is essential: Pick a time when you know you’ve nothing else demanding your attention so you can approach it relaxed, confident and clear-minded. It’s important to make sure you don’t discard anything too hastily.
3) Have a mantra:,

Girls this season think rebellion. Wear make up with a sense of ownership, a “what are you looking at attitude” rather than “look at me“. Colour features heavily but don’t get confused thinking it is heavy colour. It is colour viewed through a smoke screen – see through and romantic. Think coral, pink, lavender, yellow/gold and plum/burgundy. Raw naked skin set against upbeat colours bring spring summer to a new destination this season. Heavy foundation is a no no.
The other big trend is hard, luxury, rebellion. Own it. Its all about individuality. Work that anti establishment look

As winter begins I always enjoy layering-up in gloves, scarf, hoodie and my new winter coat. This year I went for a high-gloss, navy, Moncler down puffa with fur-collared hood, which is the epitomy of comfort. All wrapped up there’s nothing better than heading out for a stroll on a crisp winter’s morning with my pooch-pal, Harry

Despite the drop in temperatures over the past few days, the evenings are stretching and hopeful signs of spring are on the way – in fact I caught a glimpse of my first crocus today in Stephens Green.

Harvey Nichols Dundrum presented their spring summer offerings with a fabulous concept fashion show styled and produced by Paula Hughes on Thursday last.
The scene was set when invited guests were ushered, champagne in hand, to a warehouse-style venue hidden in the basement of the store. Ultra-violet lighting, a paint splattered run-way and Auguste-faced clowns (aptly named Hilarious Hank!) provided the setting for a multicoloured circus concept show. Designs by Sonia Rykiel, D&G, Vivienne Westwood, See by Chloe, and Alexander Mc Queen strutted down the catwalk. My favourites came in the form of Amanda Wakeley, Philip Lim and the queen of digital prints Mary Katrantzou.
Kudos to the team at Harvey Nic’s who didn’t ignore the men in the audience and presented some pretty slick menswear looks from Diesel, Dsquared2, D&G and the super cool ‘Elvis Jesus emerald Miami Vice’ t-shirt exclusive to Harvey Nichols.
