Kelly Brook’s New Look Party Dress Collection

New Look have once again enlisting the help of the gorgeous Kelly Brook, designing a capsule collection of dresses that are glamorous, sophisticated and red-carpet ready. All of course in the nick of time for the upcoming party season.

It’s great to see women like Kelly, famed for her fifties silhouette and enviable curves, being used by the big players on the highstreet. In the images Kelly is styled with a 40’s twist, glossy, curled hair swept seductively to the side, epitomising the ‘screen siren’ with an air of old-school glamour. The dresses are all quite different – from low backs, plunging v neck-lines and thigh skimming hems to midi lengths, maxi dresses and cinched in waists. Naturally embellishment rules with lots of sparkling sequins, intricate beading and delicate pleats bringing a touch of luxe to the range.

The stand out pieces for me are the emerald green sequinned dress with low cut back and the black pleated maxi. These dresses are due to hit stores from November with prices from as little as £19.99, so there’s no excuse not to add a little sprinkling of sparkle to your wardrobe this season!

Anyone will tell you, I’m a sucker for a bargain. When I clapped eyes on the latest collection from Heatons I was impressed with the design and even more so with the price point.

Heatons have introduced a fab range of boldly printed skirts, such as the floral print tulip skirt above, at a steal at only €9.97. Teamed with a striped button vest €6 and a pair of patent yellow gladiator sandals starting from just €13 and you’ve a drop dead gorgeous cute look for summer for under €30! Or make a statement with this flowing sequin and flower maxi dress for just €25….how could you go wrong!

THE MAXI DRESS

The maxi dress offers a great summer look. Pair with some wedges and chunky accessories for a cool, fresh look. A word of advice for shorter women – to avoid being drowned by your maxi make sure your dress is well cut and in proportion with your petite frame. Keep things fitted up top and avoid an overly voluminous skirt. Sleeker, stylish A-line or bias cut, is usually more complimentary.

For larger women, a halter-style or bandeau top is preferable to thin spaghetti straps, as they are more flattering to the bust. A V-neck draws attention away from the bust and is flattering for the fuller figure.
