Summer is a time when our skin is exposed to the elements, whether at a festival, enjoyed the great outdoors or simply in the back garden at a barbeque. No matter what the environment, it is no excuse to neglect your skin or use less than adequate products that you wouldn’t dream of touching in any other circumstance. In fact it is more important than ever to have the skin looking tip top for when we are sporting minimal make up.
Here is my guide (and what I will be backing in my knapsack).
Shiseido Pureness Refreshing Cleansing Sheets. Oil free and alcohol free, these wonderful fresh and resealable cloths will keep you make up free at night and radiant the next morning, no matter what state you are in. Available at Clearys.
Adaptasun Sensitive Skin tanning face cream by Institute Esthederm. This handy 50ml will protect even the fairest skin from burning while allowing you to tan to your maximum capability. The liquid is light and transparent and absorbs instantly. I also find it doesn’t cause any breakouts like oilier versions can.
Piz Buin 1 Day Long SPF 30. 6 hr sun protection from a single application. I find it also leaves the skin in great condition and even helps achieve a darker than normal tan. Win win.
Shiseido After Sun Intense Recovery Emulsion For Face and Body. This super portable container doesn’t look like 150mls so be careful when packing your hand luggage. It works a dream on sensitive skins as well as more resilient types. Its light, hydrating, cooling and smells divine. Exactly what one needs when having overdone it unknowingly. There wont be a lobster in sight.
Eco Tools Bamboo Sleep Mask. Oh god, I am so obsessed with this, I can’t leave home without it. Give yourself the best chance you can at a good nights sleep using this little gem. It is soft and comfortable and blocks out all the light. After all, sleep is our biggest beauty weapon. www.ecotools.com
Nature Babycare Eco Sensitive Wipes. I have tried every type of wipe on the market, no lie. These are the best. They are none abrasive, natural, biodegradable, soft and perfume free. Plus they really clean and don’t leave that gross film that most do. Available at Boots.
Trevor Sorbie Large Hair Pins. Again, couldn’t live without these, you can do almost any design in your hair and these bad boys will hold it in place no matter how silky your locks are.
Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume. Use this 2 in 1 miracle cure for dull greasy flat hair. It instantly revives and revolumises your hair.
