While I’m completely smitted with my brand spanking new iPhone 4 (swoon!) Samsung have introduced its newest Android phone – the Galaxy S. When it comes to design Samsung have definitely taken their cue from Apple but I have to be honest, they’ve done a good job and I really like it. While I don’t own one myself, a couple of my friends have previous Samsung models that I’ve played around with it and really like the interface.
The handset offers incredible high definition screens with fantastic image quality, it’s lightening fast processors (1 GHz) with, according to them, the quickest ever WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G download speeds. I’ll take their word on that…
One of the really convenient features is the Social Hub facility, which allows you to store all contacts from email, facebook and your phonebook to one central address book – great if like me you lose your phone regularly. It also boasts a HD video feature, great for viewing Youtube and your own personal images and ‘ThinkFree’ apps to view and edit Microsoft Office 2007 documents, which is a real bonus if you’re working on the go.
It’s super-slim design means it won’t add bulk in your pocket or weight to your already over loaded handbag. It also includes Swype functionality, which is exclusive to Samsung handsets for three months, and allows users to input text on the move at speeds they have never seen before. All in all, it’s a good alternative for anyone looking for a stylish smartphone with high capabilities.
