TV Presenter Darren Kennedy brings his insatiable curiosity about people to his work. An exciting talent he was named ‘Rising Star’ by HELLO! magazine.
Starting as a runner on breakfast TV aged 17, Darren worked his way up to produce on a raft of entertainment programmes including the Emmy Award winning Amazing Race. It wasn’t long before he realised his true talents lay in front of the camera.
Darren has a knack for putting people instantly at ease, evident in his first major documentary ‘Gay Daddy’ (developed & authored by Darren) which was broadcast to critical acclaim and trended worldwide on Twitter.
His series ‘The Unemployables’ (think Benefits Street meets The Undatables) which he co-devised and presented, was nominated for best new TV format at the European Broadcasting Union Awards.
Always ready to throw himself into every challenge, whether interviewing the world’s biggest stars on the red carpet or ordinary folk on the sticky subjects of sex and virginity (in his documentary ‘Like A Virgin’), he never shies away from asking the tough questions.
Darren was resident style presenter on ITV 1’s flagship show ‘This Morning’, and presenter of celebrity entertainment series #Trending on RTE. He has appeared on ITV2′s Xtra Factor, Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, BBC’s ‘BAFTA Film Award: Red Carpet’ and hosted the red carpet at the Irish Film and Television Awards. He has presenting live on US networks FOX, ABC, OXYGEN, The CW and E! UK to a combined audience over of 160 million.
Darren’s quick wit and ability to think on his feet and build a rapport with audiences means he is in demand for hosting live events. He has hosted for GQ, Lancôme, BAFTA, various movie premieres and the VIP Style Awards. Most recently, he had the privilege of hosting the UK launch of the new Hugo Boss fragrance alongside Hollywood actor Gerard Butler.
Unfazed by celebrity, Darren has interviewed a wonderful mix of household names including Victoria Beckham, Emma Watson, Tommy Hilfiger, Ronaldo, David Gandy and Saoirse Ronan.
Outside of TV, Darren is an accomplished writer and entrepreneur. He writes a regular column for Telegraph Men and the Irish Independent. He has a passion for style and his design collaboration with master tailor Louis Copeland, known for a healthy dollop of old-school swag, has produced six sell-out suit collections.
Darren holds a first-class honors degree in International Business & Languages and is a fluent French speaker. His other passions include travel, fitness & wellbeing and animals.
