Fresh from another super successful series of RTE’s Operation Transformation, fitness guru Karl Henry shares his sartorial secrets with us.

Describe your style in five words?
Surfer, casual, chilled, sporty, relaxed.

What’s your beauty essential?
My nivea moisturiser, I am always getting complimented on my good skin and this product helps a lot. Especially after a hard days mountain biking or surfing in the middle of winter!

What item could you not live without?
My iPphone. I am surgically attached at the hip to it, for all my emails, texts and apps. It’s the easiest work/life accessory for busy people.

If your house was on fire and you’d only time to save one thing, what would it be?
My digital SLR. I bought a canon eos 5dmk2 last year, and love it. The pictures are such fantastic memories and photography is one of my hobbies, I think everyone should have a good camera!

What’s top of your wish list at the moment?
A really cool Paul Smith suit that I had on loan recently for a photo shoot. I own 2 suits as I don’t use them all that much, but the fit and shape of the Paul Smith is to die for, maybe if I write a nice letter to santa…….

Best style tip?
Find a good shirt designer, with a cut that enhances your shoulders and cuts to a narrower waist, easy way to improve the look of your upper body easily without any sweat!

Favourite highstreet designer collaboration?
Paul Smith

What’s in your manbag right now?
North Face have some very hardy, cool bags out this season.

Who is your style-crush?
Adam Clayton from U2

Worst and/or best shopping experience?
Best was my last visit to Louis Copelands, where I found 2 amazing limited edition shirts of just €100 – great fit and feel and rare. A great store on Pembroke st too.

Best high street store or boutique?
French Connection

Favourite place to shop?
Tough one this one – I love 52 Degress North in Carrickmines for outdoor wear. For formal clothes it has to be Louis Copelands and for a store experience in must be Brown Thomas!

What is your travel essential?
A good book, no matter what happens you can lose yourself in the midst of a good read!

Fashion on the web?
All very boring here I am afraid, sports websites such as underarmour sportswear or www.nike.com. I prefer to try my more formal clothes on in the shop, so online buying is restricted a little.

Worst fashion moment?
Oh god, where to start??Maybe the moonwalker Michael Jackson runners I wore when I was 14 or the expensive Benetton Formula 1 jacket that I bought that I am still waiting to come into fashion!

What era of style would you most like see return to fashion?
Has to be the 60”s, the Boat that Rocked is one of my favourite movies, and the clothes from that Era are just amazing!

Finally, what do you want your style to say about you?
I would hope that it reflects my personality, chilled but hardworking, focused but friendly :-)
