STYLE SECRETS WITH...HOLLY WHITE

Holly White

Best known for her role in RTE mockumentary Dan & Becs, actress and journalist Holly White gained her foundation in Trinity College before embarking on a Fashion Journalism degree in London. Since then she has worked for the illustrious Vogue and Tatler while contributing to the fashion pages of the Irish Independent Weekend magazine and Irish Times as both as stylist and journalist. Voted one of Ireland’s ‘most stylish women’ by Image magazine, we sat down with the multi-talented Killiney lady to discuss her style.

What five words best describe your style?
Casual-Smart, indie, pretty, classic and luxe!

Favourite item in your wardrobe right now?
My J Brand Jeans or my Balenciaga bag. I wanted both for ages, saved for both and love and use them so much now!

Best style tip?
Keep in shape- your clothes will look better and you will feel better!

Worst or best shopping experience?
I’m only going to talk about positive experiences, so shopping in New York for the first time in January 2010- the best experience!

Where’s your favourite place to shop?
To be honest I love a good rummage and finding something in T K Maxx has a real sense of victory to it.

Best high street store?
It’s got to be Topshop. There is something for everyone in there. The stock changes pretty regularly. On a different scale Penney’s is awesome.

Whats been your worst fashion moment?
I’m only thinking positive so that can stay blank!

Fashion on the web?
www.fashionista.com

All are image driven and beautifully put together by savvy people.

Who do you think epitomises great style?
It’s got to be Alexa Chung. I adore her and love how she looks casual in Chanel and the way she mixes things up. Serena on Gossip Girl or Betty in Mad Men are both so well put together and their clothes define their characters which is important. Going back a bit Jane Birkin is cool as is Brigette Bardot. Stella McCartney, and LIberty Ross are also amazing women who continue to be edgy.
