Michelle Doherty hosts Finest Worksongs on Dublin’s Phantom 105.2. She has a great sense of her own personal style, playing up her sultry looks with a touch of rock chic casual. Next week she’s co-hosting the Appys Awards in Dublin’s Mansion House and from hearing her style secrets, we suspect she’ll be working a 40′s vintage-inspired look!

Five words for your style?
Stylish, simple, individual, classy and relaxed.

What’s your beauty essential?
My beauty essential would have to be Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. I can’t leave the house without it.

What item could you not live without?
My phone because apart from keeping me in touch with the outside world, it also has all my music.

If your house was on fire and you’d only time to save one thing, what would it be?
Apart from my all of my shoes, it would have to be my laptop because my whole life is on it – It has all my photographs, music, and contacts so I would be totally lost without it.

Top of your wish list at the moment?
I really want a new coat to take me through the winter. I think you need to spend a little bit more on a coat because once it gets cold you’ll be spending a lot of time in it.

Best style tip?
Keep it simple – Less is more.

Favourite highstreet designer collaboration?
H&M do brilliant designer collaborations every year. My favourite ones in recent years were Stella McCartney and Viktor & Rolf for H&M.

What’s in your handbag right now?
My phone, wallet, house and car keys, some make-up, a small umbrella, loose change, random receipts, lip balm, a packet of tissues, a pen and notebook – the list goes on!

Style-crush?
I love Olivia Palermo’s style. Whether she’s dressed up for a big event, or just wearing a simple pair of jeans, she always manages to look amazing. She’s brilliant at accessorising too – I’d love to take a few pieces out of her jewellery box!

Worst shopping experience?
I dislike shopping at the best of times, so my worst shopping experiences would probably be whenever there’s a big sale on. I hate rummaging through messy rails and standing in long queues at the tills.

Best high street store or boutique?
I love Laundry Room in Dundrum for their gorgeous vintage-style tea dresses. They also stock Beg, Borrow or Steal jeans which are really comfy, I’ve been living in their Carrie skinny jeans recently.

Favourite place to shop?
Zara is my favourite high street store at the moment. Their Autumn/Winter collection is great, and they are brilliant at interpreting designer looks at purse-friendly prices.

What is your travel essential?
A big bottle of water – I couldn’t travel without one!

Fashion on the web: favourite sites & why?
I love net-a-porter for designer wear, but Asos.com is definitely the one I buy the most clothes from. They have an amazing selection of clothes, bags and shoes – I could spend hours just browsing that website!

Worst fashion moment?
When I was a teenager I had an MC Hammer moment with some crazy trousers that I’d rather forget about!

What era of style would you most like see return to fashion?
Because I adore vintage fashion I loved seeing the 1940’s style appear on Autumn/Winter catwalks this year. I love the feminine midi-length skirts and perfectly styled voluminous hair.

Finally, what do you want your style to say about you?
I think my style says that I’m not a big follower of trends, but that I like clothes that are stylish and make me feel confident.
