After making his name on a string of holiday programmes in the UK, Craig Doyle is one of ITV’s stable of sports anchors. Dividing his time between London and Dublin, he’s also the latest addition to Irish television’s line-up of chat show hosts with his new Tonight With Craig Doyle show on RTÉ One. We catch up with the charming Dubliner…

Describe your style in five words?
Confused, last minute, hit and miss!

What’s your beauty essential?
No sleep, lots of delayed flights and stress.

What item could you not live without?
My combat shorts, I’ve had them for years and have had to rescue them from many a charity clothes sack thanks to my wife.

If you’re house was on fire and you’d only time to save one thing, what would it be?
The aforementioned shorts

Most desired fashion item?
I don’t have any real fashion wants; I just stumble across stuff without too much thought.

Best style tip?
Undies under the trousers.

Are you a man-bag type of guy?
Man-bag? Give me a break!

Worst and/or best shopping experience?
I don’t enjoy it but when you start a new TV show they give you a stylist who brings you coffee and clothes she says suit you, I like that a lot. I also love shopping with my daughter for dresses (for her ), I must do more of it.

London

Fashion on the web?
I can safely say I have never even googled the word fashion, never mind go on a site dedicated to it – sorry.

Who or what epitomises great style?
Confidence in what you are wearing.

What era of style would you most like see return to fashion?
I had to wear a tweed 40′s style suit for an ITV show recently, it was very dapper.

Finally, what do you want your style to say about you?
That I don’t take it all too seriously.
