
Broadcaster and all round fabulously-fun guy Brendan Courtney knows a thing or two about personal style and putting his best foot forward when it comes to looking good. He took over the reigns of RTE’s flagship fashion show ‘Off the Rails’ last year. Before that, Brendan co-produced and presented The Clothes Show in the UK and was voted TV’s Most Stylish Presenter in 2007. Currently back on the small screen hosting his second series of ‘Off the Rails’ with co-presenter Sonya Lennon, we caught up with him to discuss all things sartorial…
What five words best describe your style?
Tight, loose, in, out, smart.
Worst or best shopping experience?
I haven’t had a bad one, except for once when I fainted at the Selfridges sales, I was over whelmed by a woman with a fridge freezer. Oh and I despise food shopping!
Best style tip?
Enjoy clothes and use them to make you feel good. Polish your shoes!
Favourite item in your wardrobe at the moment?
Too many to mention, but right now I’m loving my brown suede ankle boots, and every man should have a black crombie for weddings, funerals and bar mitzvahs.
Who do you think epitomises great style?
Andre 3000, The Sartorialist and Sonya Lennon.
Best high street store?
Top man.
Where’s your favourite place to shop?
Anywhere that takes credit card.

Your worst fashion moment?
Well I was a big experimenter in my teens and twenties, as a result some times I got it right and sometimes I got it WRONG ! But its all part of life’s tapestry.

Hollywood 40’s and 50’s – Cary Grant
