On my way between meetings yesterday with a half an hour to kill, I happened (purely by chance, I swear) to find myself outside Burberry Brit’s newly opened, and very swish might I add, store in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. The first of it’s kind in Europe, this store is dedicated to the ‘Burberry Brit’ label – the younger and more casual sibling to the luxury of Burberry Prorsum.

No doubt by including ‘Brit’ in the name they want to emphasize their Britishness around the world and cash in on what that means especially in the luxury hungry markets of the Middle East and Asia. In fact all the music played in their stores is British as are all the models they use and the vast majority of their design team (including of course their creative director Christopher Bailey).

I absolutely fell in love with the black leather Lindbergh biker jacket. Made from pre-aged leather, it’s super soft and as you would expect the detailing is exquisite. With snap fastening pin back lapel and front zip, four front pockets, side adjusting tabs, zip cuffs and padding on the shoulders and elbows. What’s not to love! Team with a simple tee and a pair of jeans and you’re good to go. With a price tag of £895 on Mr Porter, perhaps it’s one for the Christmas wishlist. Either way, it’s definitely a must-have!

By the way, did I mention the new Covent Garden store just so happens to be next door to the largest Apple store in the world? A match made in Heaven me thinks!
