Irish designer Paul Costelloe launched his first foray into the world of jewellery last Thursday night in Dublin City centre and in doing so adding to his highly respected design portfolio.
Entitled the Merrion Collection, the range certainly doesn’t disappoint with Costelloe clearly in his element. Featuring 30 beautifully crafted sterling silver pieces from finely tailored dress rings to crafted multi-coloured stone necklets, bracelets and pendants. Every item is forged in sterling silver and encrusted with sparkling crystal stones.
The collection exudes elegance and understated class with a real olde world, vintage feel. Prices start at €75 for teardrop crystal earrings but my personal favourite is the multi-faceted crystal necklace in graduated symmetrical circles with assorted coloured stones (pictured). A real statement piece, that’s contemporary yet classic and it’s this character that will see it endure season after season as a relatively timeless piece of jewellery. At €649 it’s at the more expensive end of the collection.
