Lipstick Daze

Lipstick today is not to be confused with the over perfumed dry paint we watched our mothers layer on in abundance. It comes in many different finished and strengths, super matte highly pigmented to sheer glossy lip plumping veils of colour.

We are spoiled for choice, with shimmer, without, in a bullet, tube, wand, marker or crayon. It wears many cloaks, from a light barely there balm, to a glossy lacquer or a fully opaque finish.

Personally I wear a lot of lipstick, I just couldn’t cut it out of my collection. It has the colour I want from a gloss and none of the stickiness (important on a windy day). I also love the ritual of putting it on, from a quick slick to a more ritualistic and precise application.

My Top Lipstick Application Tips for luscious lips .
1) Use your fingers and press along the lips for a effortlessly pretty look.
2) Paint it on with a brush for precision, accuracy and depth.
3) Apply straight from the bullet for strong colour.
4) Apply then powder it down to get a velvety texture.
5) Apply, blot with tissue and reapply to give more intensity and longevity.
6) Layer a bright colour on, wipe it off and you have a stain.
