Kick start a new career as a fashion designer, buyer, merchandiser, milliner or make-up artist at Which Expo 2011 which takes place in the RDS on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August. Whether you are unemployed, want to switch careers, or simply learn a new skill, you should check out the number of fashion related courses available that will be showcased at this year’s course fair.

The Fashion Buying and Merchandising course at Portobello College is just one course which will be showcased along with millinery courses. Thanks to renowned Milliner Philip Tracey the surge in demand for fascinators (short perky hats worn at weddings) has sparked interest in how to make your own with an introductory 5 day hat design course at Portobello starting this Autumn. Aimed at those who already have a good knowledge of fashion trends and an excellent understanding of fabrics, design and shape this course covers the fundamentals only but for those want to become a professional milliner then the full time course is recommended.

Courses in make-up and for theatre special effects are available from various colleges namely The International Make up Academy, MakeUp Fablicious and Portobello colleges.

Over 100 course providers will be featured at the Expo which are aimed at course seekers throughout the Greater Dublin region. In addition to numerous course providers exhibiting a vast array of courses, up skilling programmes, distance learning, careers information and leisure opportunities. According to Beth Rees of Learning Ireland, organiser of the event, over 200,000 people will attend part time courses during 2011 and the level of interest in part-time courses has surged in recent times.
