Plus size Model Louise O’Reilly is one of Ireland’s busiest modelling exports with agents in Dublin, London and Berlin. Based in Dublin, she balances modelling with life as a full time student and recently landed a top gig with Littlewoods Ireland…we caught up with the vivacious blond to find out more!
Louise you’re a busy girl, what are you up to at the moment?
Studying International Relations in DCU, Representing curves, modeling on Shoots, T.V in Ireland, U.K and Europe.
What’s the key to your success as a model?
Hard work and determination
Growing up what did you aspire to be?
Either an actress or an animator.
What’s a typical day?
It depends; no day is ever really the same. Some days start at 5am if you’re working for a breakfast show, then off to lectures in college, you could have a few castings to attend later in the day. Sometimes a shoot or even running to catch a plane (which is usually the case!). My evenings are usually spent writing assignments or studying.
Two adjectives to describe your style?
Girly & rock chic.
Style icon?
Sophia Loren during her movie years ( classic beauty and elegance) and Olivia Palermo ( So chic!)
Favorite trend this season?
Loving this new appeal of bright bold colors and color blocking, Coral and purple are the two main ones I’ve integrated into my wardrobe this season. My second favorite trend is the reintroduction of wedges! It will be saving the lives of many feet this summer, including mine!
Favourite beauty product?
Kerastase Elixir Ultime- It’s about 35 euro but worth every penny, it’s my SOS hair solution!
Can’t live without…?
My phone, I always need to have access to emails and texts because of my job.
Style or Trends?
Trends don’t always suit everyone. So I’d say Style, because it doesn’t matter how much the item costs, I think it’s how you wear the clothes, what you pair the pieces with, its more individual.
Today I’m wearing…?
Cropped Denim jacket (penny’s), purple maxi (Littlewoods), brown guess handbag and a chunky necklace.
How do you stay in shape?
I go to the gym 2-3 times a week but I like to mix things up a bit with a Taebo class or some circuit training just so I don’t get bored.
Favourite hangout?
Siam Thai for a fab meal ( I love Asian cuisine) or Starbucks for a more laid back chill out day.
Friday night treat?
Lindt 70 per cent dark chocolate..its full of healthy antioxidant..that’s what I like to tell myself anyway!
Your perfect weekend is…?
Catching up with family and friends, a bit of shopping, a dvd or maybe good night on the dance floor with my girlies.
Last time you laughed out loud & why?
Today at something randomly hilarious my boyfriend said.
What advice would you give anyone trying to break into the business?
Stay positive, you’ll get there eventually!
If you could write your ideal job description, what would it be?
My ideal job would deal with all different areas of the fashion industry. Something with good social interaction that comprises both the media and helping people.
