This spring, as the red carpet is being unfurled for the Hollywood A-list (last week it was the Golden Globes and this evening it’s the National Television Awards where all our favourite soap stars and the likes of Cheryl Cole will take to the red carpet) why not take a leaf out of the glitterati’s book, creating hair styles that look soft and feminine with romantic waves. Like this look from the Whitney-Eve 2011 collection (above right), it’s all about full bodied tresses and the easiest way to get that is with heated rollers, meaning you don’t have to get a cramp in your arm by using a GHD!

Don’t worry about being too perfect when putting in heated rollers, this style isn’t about perfection, it’s about softness – so you can brush out the curls to create waves. A middle parting, a la Cameron Diaz, will give a more laid back feel, while a side parting, as worn by SJP below, will prove more grown up and sophisticated. Go on, why not give it a go and bring a bit of red carpet into your look.
