The launch of The Dublin Festival of Fashion last Thursday evening was a stylish affair in the beautiful Atrium Lounge at The Westin Hotel. The evening was hosted by the lovely Karen Koster, who is the face of the Festival and the guest list included the stylish Louis Copeland, Clodagh McKenna and Brendan Courtney. Guests were treated to Ice Tropez, canapes and a delicious chocolate fountain!
The event was created by Dublin City Business Improvement District and the aim is to draw shoppers into the city centre. Karen Koster made the excellent point that shopping centres really can’t compete with the atmosphere of the city.
The event runs from the 1st to the 3rd of October and will include catwalk shows on both Grafton Street and Henry Street, swap shops and classes in knitting and jewellery making, to mention just some of what will be on offer. A special collection of t-shirts called “We Are Tee” designed by Irish illustrators and designers such as Peter O’Brien, Ellis Boyle and Joanne Hynes will be on sale over the course of the weekend in support of Oxfam’s Climate Change.
