On Friday a specially curated exhibition, entitled “The Art of Fashion”, which features a spectacular retrospective installation of internationally celebrated fashion designer Mary Katrantzou’s signature looks over the past four seasons since the label’s inception and also a preview of her Autumn Winter 2011 collection, was unveiled. The bespoke installation, coordinated by Brown Thomas, was to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the foundation of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).

The designer was joined by top models Isabelle Traber and Jude Nabney previewed looks from Mary’s incredibly crafted Autumn Winter 2011 collection, which was the star attraction at London Fashion Week. The exhibition pieces will be displayed in the windows of Brown Thomas Dublin from Monday for two weeks.

Mary Katrantzou is often referred to as the ‘Print Princess’. The Athens-born designer’s intelligent use of illusory digital print, inspired by the art of trompe l’oeil, has wowed the fashion world since the launch of her eponymous label in 2009.

The fêted designer’s clothes have been worn by some of the world’s most stylish women; including Claudia Schiffer, Yasmin Le Bon, Rosmund Pike, Karolina Kurkova, Anna Dello Russo and Julia Restoin Roitfeld, to name but a few.
