This fall embrace the romanticism of the dark long nights with Autumn/Winter’s continuing trend – Lace.
Lace always seems to make its way back into the colder season’s wardrobe and with good reason, it is one of those fabrics that brings with it connotations of possibility and dark romance. Not to mention, the way in which lace can be layered with heavy knits and woollen jackets ( thank you Christopher Bailey!) and yet it still maintains that femininity that can be so easily lost when layering.
Look to the smaller boutiques when attempting to put your own spin on this season’s trends – that way your interpretation will be all your own. Emma Boutique on Clarendon St. is one of the prettiest and quirkiest shops in the city centre and has lots of lace to choose from! One of the boutique’s staple labels DEPT has really outdone itself this season, creating quirky yet pretty dresses – that are completely wearable and always adorable. A highlight of the Autumn Winter collection is the floral lace cream dress €140 (above), team with a pair opaques and high heels and the simple yet stunning black cropped tuxedo jacket also from DEPT (€160)– the ideal outfit for impromptu nights out this Autumn/Winter.
For a more casual look, the label Cream has created a wonderful chic yet wearable wardrobe. Lace features heavily in this label and the palette has focused on the darker side of the colour spectrum with greys and blacks, which just means that layering is made even easier and looks chic no matter what combination you decide on.
