It’s that time of the month again when payday seems like it’s never going to come around, you’re hemorrhaging cash (or at least you will be tomorrow after Paddy’s day) and you’ve your eye on the most amazing pair of shoes that will max out your credit card – yet again. Who ever thought the trend for wearing underwear on the outside would be one of this season’s hottest trends? The last time we saw a shift towards lingerie as outerwear was in the 80’s and not much has changed since then in that this look can be very unforgiving. Now in its 6th year, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer raises awareness and much-needed funds for cancer charities. In the last few years, Elle Macpherson, Helena Christensen, Erin O’Connor, Minnie Driver and Sir Paul Smith have all been involved with this campaign.
This year, New York designer Tory Burch has designed the bag and is coming to Brown Thomas Dublin to launch the campaign, and Limited Edition Tory Burch Tote Bag, on Friday, March 19th. I must admit it’s taken me sometime to warm to Christine Bleakley, presenter of BBC’s The One Show. Over the past couple of months I’ve come to really like the Northern Irish beauty for her genuine presence on the small screen but there’s always been one thing I’ve loved about her – her glowing, healthy looking skin!
Turns out she’s had some help in that department and her perfect glow is thanks to the He-Shi’s range of tanning products. Probably no great surprise that Brad Pitt tops the poll of who Irish women have in mind when they think of a strong and sensitive man closely followed by Mr X Factor himself, Dermot O’Leary with Irish Rugby star Paul O’Connell in third place.

If, like me, you’re getting geared up in anticipation of the Lady GaGa gig this coming Saturday in the O2 (reportedly her rider includes five supersized sofas, cooked chickens, redbull & vitamin drinks!), I thought I’d take inspiration for today’s post from the fabulous lady herself and a dress I’m sure she’d be proud to wear.
GaGa loves her oversized shoulders and this trend continues into 2010 with dramatic shoulders making a style statement on t-shirts, jackets and dresses. As winter begins I always enjoy layering-up in gloves, scarf, hoodie and my new winter coat. This year I went for a high-gloss, navy, Moncler down puffa with fur-collared hood, which is the epitomy of comfort. All wrapped up there’s nothing better than heading out for a stroll on a crisp winter’s morning with my pooch-pal, Harry.
Unfortunately this pleasure is short lived, as inevitably, we all reach saturation point with having to layer-up every time we step outside. Particularly given the weather this winter, preparing to go outdoors became a chore.
