Ladies whether you follow the trend for a one-shoulder number or prefer to go strapless, make sure yours are worthy of exposure for the remainder of the chilly winter months ahead. Sexy shimmering shoulders need to be velvety soft, gleaming & irresistible – all of which is achievable with Mama Mio’s Omega Body Oil.
100% pure natural moisture, an un-oily oil, its simply amazing. The sink-in-quick blend of Argan (improves skin elasticity), Safflower (strengthens cell membranes), Jojoba (heals and protects against aging) and Sweet Almond oils (leaves a soft sheen on the skin with no residue) ensure your shoulders are quickly transformed from dull, lizardy-looking skin into luscious soft velvety skin!

My crowning glory is eternally plagued by frizz and split ends – inspite of me dolloping every known smoothing and protecting product on my tresses. Recently, I’ve noticed that my efforts have resulted in tame, but limp and lack-luster locks – and I wasn’t sure how to add that extra oomph.
But help was at hand in the form of John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume line, in particular, the Luxurious Volume Full Splendor conditioner. Claiming to simply target the damaged areas that need conditioning while building fullness at the roots, I found my hair to feel healthy and look noticeably fuller after use. So if you’re searching for a product to add volume and life to your hair without weighing it down, this is one not to be missed!

The notion of being ‘pale and interesting’ has always been a comfort to me – but even I must admit that bluish-grey skin sometimes needs a boost to successfully carry-off the season’s trends. But hectic festive socialising doesn’t always lend itself to the careful application of self-tanning products in advance of that special night out – not to mention the not-so-appealing smell that often comes hand-in-hand with that golden glow!
I’ve bravely bared arms and legs this winter with the help of L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze One Day gel. Super easy to apply, its effective mix of caramel and tinting agents give a sheer and sexy bronzed effect. Its moisturising formula enhances the skin’s own natural colour, and smooths the surface for a healthy, natural look. And the best bit…..as it doesn’t contain self-tanning agents, it actually smells good and can be washed off easily whenever you want!

I’ve been told by friends that I’m an old fashioned gal when it comes to my lips……. the nude look and high gloss trends completely passed me by, yet I always feel absolutely naked without my lippy. But all lipstick-lovin’ ladies know that it’s essential to find a colour that lasts – and one that keeps your lips in tip-top condition during these icy winter days.
So I was thrilled to recently discover Maybelline’s Colour Sensational Lipcolour. Bursting with pure pigments, this lipstick adds a flash of intense and long-lasting colour that’s bound to brighten any dull December day! As it contains nourishing honey nectar, it glides on smoothly while conditioning and caring for your lips. And with 48 colours to choose from, you’re bound to find one to love. Sure it’s Christmas, treat yourself!
Available Nationwide, RRP €10.49

Lipstick, the most profane and sought after make up product in the world. Without even a simple slick in any shade, a finished make up look simply lacks lustre and polish.
One shade in particular adds this instant elegance and femininity – red lipstick. I for one am delighted to see its constant return to the catwalk and to be now considered social accepted without feeling like a certain 90’s call girl from a famous movie.

While I’ve never used fake tan myself, I’m reliably informed by trusty fashion-conscious friends who’ve trialed this next product, that it rocks, quite literally.
Actress (and HelpMyStyle.ie Beauty contributor) Rachel Kavanagh is on the verge of revolutionising the tanning market with her very own retail line of Rockstar Tan that recently hit stores nationwide. It claims to achieve that ‘Salon Look’ at home and by all accounts it appears to meet the grade.

As a self-confessed make-up junkie, I am always on the hunt for a new and exciting range whose sparkling eye colours, luscious lip glosses and flawless foundation catch my eye.
Italian brand Royal Effem is my latest obsession. A market leader in Italy and Europe, and used by the head make up artist for Georgio Armani, the range is now available on the Emerald Isle. Lucky for me, I got to try out some of their gorgeous make up treats and I wasn’t disappointed.

When it comes to our hair, let’s face it, we blokes pretend we don’t really care what it looks like. But, secretly we love it when we hit style perfection. When your hair is right, the whole world rocks. It’s many a year since I embarked on my pilgrimage in search of the perfect product and low and behold this week I may just have reached my hair heaven.
As a teen, I got through bucket loads of extra strong gel. Yikes! As a twenty-something I dabbled with hair-sprays (yes, hair-sprays), waxes, pastes and liquid sprays. None of them really did the trick. Too hard. Too flat. Too fuzzy. Too sticky. Then along comes Mineral Control ‘Mess It Up Putty’ from those lovely ‘Stu… stu… stu…’ Studio Line people at L’Oréal Paris and, hey presto, my hair is doing all the things I thought it never would – a messed up style with a natural look.

“But have your eye-lashes always been so long?” recently queried a befuddled old flame, “So strange that I never really noticed them before.” “I guess I am just lucky,” retorted yours truly, with a luxurious sweep of my lengthy lashes. But he was right – something had changed. I’d made a discovery that has transformed my sometimes spidery lashes into voluminous weapons of massive drama!

Yup, ’tis almost the season when our grey and groggy skin is dragged from mid-winter hibernation, and unfairly expected to sparkle enough to rival our sequined party wear. Ever one to enjoy liberally buttering myself in expensive body moisturisers, I recently stumbled across a great budget alternative that is guaranteed to have your skin shining long before the festive frolicking begins!

Yes you read correctly; rich, sumptuous, heavenly chocolate is used in this treatment which is ideal for dry, flaky or irritable skin. One of the fastest ways for me to feel elegant and groomed is to get my nails painted. But after only a couple of days, I end up as most women do, with chipped unsightly nail polish that I can’t fix, and end up having to get out the remover and watch my €25 paint and file quite literally, slip away.

That is until I discovered BioSculpture permanent nail polish- and the wonderful Ciara Kershaw from Sparkles Mobile Beauty who applied them for me-oh the joy!
Bio sculpture is a wonderful alternative to acrylic nails that can often damage the nail bed and require expensive and time consuming up keep. Instead, the Gel is applied over the prepared natural nails in a colour of your choice [over a 100 to choose from], dries within minutes and continues to strengthen and promote nail growth while wearing them!
