A few short years ago, Carey Mulligan was a virtual unknown in the movie world but with star turns in An Education and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and a movie star boyfriend in the form of Shia laBeouf, Carey has been catapulted onto the world’s stage and from the movie scene to the fashion scene.

Fashion editors have fallen for her sophisticated yet girly style which has been described as French chic. As if to cement her status as leader of the fash pack, style bible Harper’s Bazaar has named Mulligan as the Best Dressed Woman of 2010 beating the likes of fellow Brit Victoria Beckham, which is no mean feat. Carey was gracious in her win claiming, “I don’t really care that much about fashion, I just have a brilliant stylist who dresses me”.

While us mere mortals may not have a stylist to hand, stealing Carey’s style couldn’t be easier. So while Carey credits her stylist, you’ll have no-one but yourself to thank (and maybe me) when you’re getting fashion kudos for these outfits. But ladies, I can only help you with the style; the glittering career and movie star boyfriend are up to you!
