A/Wear have recently introduced Ireland’s hottest new cosmetic line “The Balm” to their stores around the country. The quirky, vintage inspired collection is the brainchild of San Francisco native Marissa Shipman. Marissa felt that there were a few essentials she required in her make-up bag on a daily basis to feel glamorous and knew that other women must be feeling the same – so she bought a few books on how to make cosmetics and started mixing up ingredients in her kitchen!

After a few tweaks and a lot of hard work, The Balm was born and is now a bestseller in Sephora USA, available in over 36 countries worldwide and is a favourite with make-up artists on The X-Factor, Gossip Girl and Sex and the City 2.

The Balm features packaging with lighthearted and cheeky names such as Shady Lady, Sexy Mama and Hot Mama, (a blush that is practically identical to cult favourite NARS Orgasm). Mary-Lou Manizer is a beautiful, shimmering champagne powder that is flattering on all skin tones, giving an instantaneous boost of luminosity and Two-Timer is a double ended mascara which allows you to keep it natural or go super glam on a night out.

The Balm also represents an important ethos that cosmetics do not have to be harmful to animals, seen especially in the velvety smooth vegan friendly lip balms.
