UPDATE October 4th 2012: It’s official Abercrombie & Fitch will open its doors to its Dublin Flagship store, located at 34 College Green, on November 1st, at 11:00 AM. Torches at the ready!!

UPDATE: Abercrombie & Fitch go viral with their version of Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’

Following the success of it’s sister brand Hollister in Drundrum, it was no surprise really when Abercrombie & Fitch announced last year it had chosen the former Habitat building on College Green for their new 2,500 sqm Irish Flagship store.

Although initially reported to open in November 2011, I past by the building over the weekend for the first time in donkeys and it’s clear to see that work is well underway for the opening. This location provides a nice corridor from the main shopping areas of Stephen’s Green and Henry street. If the experience of flagship stores of the USA’s famous clothing brand in London and Paris is anything to go by, the College Green store will become a tourist attraction in its own right. A popular sight outside these stores of course is groups of girls and gays queuing to get a glimpse at the buff male staff.

Will you be joining them or do you find half-naked shop assistants and dimly lit stores a turn-off when shopping?
